Upgrading your satellite system

If you are watching satellite TV in the UK it is most likley that you are watching Sky. In other parts of Europe, or if you are interested in International TV viewing then you may be have a seperate satellite dish pointed to HOTBIRD or ASTRA. The HOPE Channel is a free TV channel on the HOTBIRD satellite.

In order to receive Hope Channel by satellite in Europe you need to have a satellite dish pointed at the Hotbird satellite, which is at 13 degrees east. You also need to have a digital receiver. The receiver needs to be set up with the following details:

Frequency: 11585

Polarisation: Horizontal

SR: 27500

FEC: 3/4

Many viewers will buy a satellite dish with a dual LNB allowing them a greater variety of additional channels on both ASTRA and HOTBIRD. The receiver head of the satellite dish (LNB) must be can then be pointed at ASTRA (19 ° East) and Eutelsat-Hotbird (13 ° East). The dish might need some adjustment to see both satellites. If all this sounds too technical, don't worry. There are many companies that are willing to install and set up your equipment for you.
